Since passing the California Bar Examination in 1993, Marc has gained admittance to all of California’s state courts and the Federal Southern and Central District Courts in California. From 1996 to present, Marc’s practice has included all major venues in California, including San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Since 1993, Marc’s law practice has been almost entirely and exclusively dedicated to representing employees involved with legal disputes against their employers. During his legal career, Marc has successfully represented more than 500 employees in employment-related disputes and has mediated, arbitrated and/or litigated more than 100 cases to successful conclusions. In various employment-related cases, Marc has prevailed in arbitration, bench trials, jury trials and appeals. Marc’s experience as an employment lawyer includes his handling of complex class action (wage & hour) cases and the work Marc has done on those wage & hour class action cases has resulted in the certification multiple classes of employees and millions in recovery on behalf of those classes. While working as an associate attorney early in his career, Marc also successfully served as lead counsel in complex product defect/wrongful death cases on behalf of injured Plaintiffs.

In 1999, Marc and Patrick Nellies co-founded Advantage Law Group in San Diego, California. Since that time, Advantage Law Group has grown to add two more partners and two additional offices in California including Orange County and San Francisco.

Marc attended Willamette University College of Law (“WUCL”) in Salem, Oregon from 1990-1993. In law school Marc focused his studies in employment law/labor relations and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from WUCL in 1993. While attending WUCL, Marc served as Senior Law Clerk to Daniel Ellis, Chief Judge of the Oregon Employment Relations Board (“ERB”). Marc’s responsibilities as a law clerk for ERB included drafting advisory decisions for Judge Ellis. While in law school at WUCL Marc also worked as a law clerk for the Marion County District Attorney’s Office (“DA”). As a law clerk for the DA, Marc provided legal research and drafted motions and oppositions for the DA’s unit that specialized in prosecuting sex crimes. Marc also assisted the DA in a variety of murder cases.

Marc has provided pro bono legal services to indigents and also has donated his time generously to the Special Olympics and American Cancer Society. Originally from Teaneck, New Jersey, Marc attended the University of Maryland College Park (“UMCP”) and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from UMCP. Marc has lived in San Diego since 1993. Marc is married and has three children.
